BIRMINGHAM-based data network, cabling and communications supplier CDI Group has expanded its security division with a new acquisition.
The group has taken over city rival Discovery Cabling Solutions in an undisclosed deal.
The CDI Group has offices in Birmingham, London and Newcastle. It supplies cabling, hardware telephony systems, CCTV and electrical systems to sectors including banking & finance, legal, healthcare, education, retail and manufacturing. It also has contracts with the aerospace industry and the Ministry of Defence.
The group has a turnover of more than £8m and customers include: HP, the Ministry of Justice, BAA, Saint Gobain, Jewson and RBS.
The Discovery deal has seen CDI Security Services gain accreditation from the independent regulatory body, NACOSS (National Approval Council for Security Systems), which gives accreditation to companies complying with its policies and procedures and which meet British and European standards.

CDI Security Services will incorporate the team from Discovery Cabling Solutions, which has been trading for 15 years.
